Planning

Step 1:
Contacting your Booking Agent

Get in touch with Brendan or Chef Luke, they will go over your options for a Safari and create a custom Safari Package tailored to your needs. Once you approve the quote, the next and biggest step is finalizing your Safari dates. Logistically, everything revolves around these initial dates. Flights to Johannesburg and to Kimberley run multiple times a day, so we can start your Safari on any available date. Click HERE to start building your customized Safari.

Step 2:
Finalize Dates

Once we get your dates squared away, a simple deposit is paid to put the dates into the Calendar. Your payment options will be Cash, PayPal or Credit card. We will send over an updated hunting contract with all pertinent info, from a packing list to food preferences and more.

Step 3:
Finalize Flights

After you confirmed your dates for your unforgettable trip to Africa, it’s time to make some travel arrangements. Chef Luke will help guide you with booking your flights, to ensure that you are on the right place at the right time. We will coordinate all lodging and vehicle transportation in Africa. At this point, if you are bringing a firearm, we will work with the appropriate authorities to get your license paperwork filled out. The license paperwork will be waiting for you upon your arrival as well as a friendly HTK Representative.

Step 4:
Relax and enjoy the excitement

At this time we will send over our most recent HTK Safari Guide. It will answer 90 percent of the gear and packing questions you should have. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. An HTK representative will reach out to you about a month prior to your trip to go over any last minute questions you might have. After that, you are good to go and we will be ready to pick you up upon your arrival in South Africa.

Additional Information

When you accept your quote, we will send you a hunting contract with all the basic terms and conditions for your hunt. Due to the nature of travel and hunting in Africa, rates and conditions are subject to change. We reserve the right to alter and change any of the above conditions without prior notice. If you have any questions regarding terms of hunting please contact us.

Packing List

We have you covered on what to pack and what not. Most clients bring a lot of stuff they never use on their trip.

We are here to help you travel light and easy.

With our hunting contract we have a detailed packing list from documentation to clothes and more – providing you with hassle free traveling.

Insurance & Medical

You are not covered by any insurance at HTK Safaris. Therefore we strongly advise you to make the necessary arrangements to ensure that you and your equipment are fully insured for the duration of your stay at HTK Safaris. Rest assured that we do our best to ensure your safety at all times.

Consult your medical practitioner on vaccination for diseases in the area you will be hunting. HTK Safaris will give clear indications when traveling to Malaria areas beforehand, although most hunting in South Africa will be in a Malaria free area.

Taxidermy

We take good care of all trophies hunted during your stay at HTK Safaris. We do the necessary field work and preparation, while you enjoy your hunt. After the hunt we send the trophies to the taxidermy of your choice, although we recommend Moredou Taxidermy. Animals doesn’t have to be mounted in South Africa, Moredou Taxidermy will also be able to arrange the dip and ship to your preferred taxidermy elsewhere. We have prices and brochures available, send us an email to find out more.
